PREPARATION OF 1% PHENOLPHTHALEIN AND 0.1% PHLOROGLUCINOL

PREPARATION OF 1% PHENOLPHTHALEIN

This a reagent used in the volumentric analysis of weqk acids and strong base.

1.      Weigh 1g of phenolphthalein powder (for 1% Phenolphthalein) into 100ml volumetric flask

2.      Add 40ml of 95% ethanol and shake

3.      Make up to the mark with 95% ethanol.

 

Preparation of 0.1% PHLOROGLUCINOL

 

1.      Weigh 0.1g of Phloroglucinol powder (for 0.1% Phloroglucinol) into 100ml volumetric flask

2.      Add about 40ml of 95% ethanol and shake

3.      Make up to the mark with 95% ethanol.
