How To prepare 1M and 0.1M NaOH

PREPARATION 1M NaOH and 0.1M NaOH

To prepare 1M and 0.1M NaOH
NaOH is one of the most useful base in the laboratory

APPARATUS: 500ml Beaker, stirrer, 1000ml volumetric flask, cold water bath

REAGENT: NaOH pellet, distilled water.

PROCEDURE:

1.      Weigh 40g (for 1M) and 4g (for 0.1M) of NaOH pellet into a 500ml beaker,

2.      Add 200ml distilled water and stir in a cold water bath till it is completely dissolved.

3.      Transfer into 1000ml volumetric flask, make up to the mark with distilled water and shake
