Froehde’s Reagent
Purpose: Spot test for alkaloids and some phenols.
Procedure:
Dissolve 0.5 g molybdic acid (or MoO₃) in 100 ml concentrated sulfuric acid.
Prepare freshly before use.
Apply dropwise onto the test substance.
